Original Renegade starts with the artwork, but a graphic only works when it works on the garment. Our clothing is designed, printed and finished in Worcestershire, giving us a close view of the details that turn an illustration into something you actually want to wear: garment weight and fit, print scale, placement, colour and finish.

This page explains how we approach that process and why keeping design and production close matters to an independent UK streetwear brand.

From artwork to garment

The starting point is original artwork developed for Original Renegade. We are not trying to fill a catalogue with generic graphics; the aim is to create designs that belong on the clothing and fit the tattoo-informed, alternative visual language of the brand.

That means a drawing is only the first stage. Before a design becomes a finished tee, hoodie or long sleeve, we consider how the artwork will read at garment scale, what placement suits it and how the colours work against the fabric. If you want more on the difference between original artwork and generic graphics, read Original Art vs Stock Graphics.

The garment is part of the design

A graphic tee is not just an image placed on a blank. Fabric weight, fit, colour and proportions all affect how the finished piece looks. A large back graphic on a heavyweight tee needs a different balance from a chest print on a cropped fit or the same artwork adapted for a long sleeve.

That is why our product pages specify the garment details that matter, including weight, material and fit where relevant. If you are comparing sizes or silhouettes, use the Original Renegade Size & Fit Guide.

Print scale and placement matter

Artwork that looks right on a screen can feel completely different once it is printed across a real garment. Scale, position and the space around a graphic change the whole result.

We treat placement as part of the design rather than an afterthought. Front prints, back prints and smaller chest graphics are adjusted to suit the garment instead of using one fixed layout for everything.

Printed and finished in Worcestershire

Original Renegade clothing is printed and finished in Worcestershire, England. Keeping that stage close to the design process gives us much better control over the details that are difficult to judge from a mock-up alone: actual print size, position, colour against fabric and the overall balance of the finished garment.

For an independent label, that close feedback loop matters. We can judge the physical piece, not just the artwork file, and keep the production decisions connected to the original design.

Why we do not force every design through one print method

There is no single print process that is automatically the best answer for every graphic. Artwork, colour, garment choice and the type of run can all affect what makes sense for a particular piece.

Where a print method or technical detail is relevant, we include it in the product information. For a practical comparison of common clothing-print methods, see DTF vs Screen Print vs DTG.

Built for real wear

The finished graphic has to survive being worn and washed, not just look good for a product photo. Garment quality, print choice and aftercare all influence how a piece ages.

We cover the practical side in our guide to graphic print longevity, including the washing and care habits that help printed clothing last longer.
